where's the time gone

i see it's been a while since i've written. time flies.

i can hardly believe it. at the end of the day on tuesday, december 15th, my husband will no longer have a job. his retirement starts early. i have to wait still. we still need to ready our bowmanville home to sell. it is a project that never seems to make any headway. the plumbing or shall i say, the water system, is next up. at present we have next to no water pressure in the house... it's like turn on the kitchen sink to do the dishes but you can walk away for 15 minutes while it fills with water. the tank and switch are being replaced. the water pump itself is fine.

i'm still waiting for one of my three daughters to remove ALL of her belongings from this house. i think she needs to rent a u-haul to have space for all of the clothes and shoes and paraphernalia she continuously has littering my house. i mean, her wedding gown is still growing out of my hallowe'en costume closet and it's been a year and a half... maybe i'll wear it next hallowe'en :)

we're staying home this weekend, instead of traveling up to the log cabin in maynooth. i get to indulge a little in my habit. my habit is dog agility. i'm taking my 2 youngest tollers to agility house league tomorrow. i'm sure my old boy ringo would like to come with but it'll be a long day as rowdy runs in the mornings and sniper in the afternoon. ringo will have to suck it up and stay with hubby as hubby, i'm sure, will be playing on his PS3... that's what i bought him for his retirement gift. he's having a blast with the new "call of duty" and i bought "little big planet" for myself.

hopefully my next post won't be such a long time in coming.

time off

i'm a sickee today. my nose is so stuffy i can hardly breathe and talk about run.... i've used boxes and boxes of tissues. it's not good.
hubby will have to drive to maynooth tomorrow. he only has 13 work days left and then it's retirement for him. me? well i have to wait for a while, until we sell the bowmanville house. it's not going to paint itself. the kitchen is almost done but i don't know what to do with the cabinets? and no, we're not replacing them. they'll have to be refinished someway or another. then there's the flooring on the 2nd floor.... to carpet or not to carpet?, that is the question. some say carpet the bedrooms, others say no put down hardwood... i'd go laminate myself as i think it holds up better than hardwood judging by the way the hardwood flooring in maynooth is going.
anyway, i'm off to curl up on the couch with my box of tissue again.

wow! i've finally done it. i've created my own blog... how current and up to date is that?
Living in Black Fly Country is where i'm headed in the near future. my husband and i are moving out of the GTA and heading to a new home about 20 minutes north of Bancroft, ON... home of Ontario's Provincial Bird..... you guessed it.... the Black Fly...
we've actually owned our retirement home for well over a year now and have experienced one Black Fly season and really, it wasn't too, too, bad. you did have to spend a wee bit more time indoors, or get used to wearing mosquito/bug clothing and hats but may/june have never been my most favourite time of the year anyway.... september/october is more like it. for the past 21 years i've lived with the Black Fly here in my little corner of the world, just an hour or so east of Toronto, on the north shore of Lake Ontario. most people have not believed me over the years, that Black Flies are so far south, but they are, so i'll feel right at home when we move up there permanently.
